Today I had a job at Wyoming, Ohio in Cincinnati. The customer called at 9:00AM and asked me if i can come over during the day to his spa massage location. I didn’t have any appointments, so i was there less then an hour and the issue was that he couldn’t open his front main door for his clients and needed to fix that right away. He had a push paddle door handle on the inside and a Yale mortise cylinder lock on the outside of the door. He tried to unlock the door with the key, but it didn’t work. I tested the lock and everything seems to be in a good condition. I told my client that I believe its either the mechanism or the paddle handle in this case.

I started to take the parts off the door and found out the mechanism is damaged and has to be replaced. What happened is when he tried to turn the lock from outside or push the door for inside to go out, the latch didn’t go in the way it should be when you unlock your door. The paddle handle was working properly and the outside lock was good as well. There was a missing security plate that is very important to have and that holds the mechanism lock even better. I installed a new one for him and checked again how everything works.

This is a new business for my client and he had 2 inside doors with a commercial liver lock that every time when one of his employees shut the door it was making a noise while his customers having a massage and trying to relax.
